East Tennessee Region Events

Oct. 19:  Fall Foliage Tour.  Hosted by the Roystons and Blake McCampbell.

Here are the details from Linda Royston:

MEET: 9:30 a.m. at Weigel’s on Highway 66/Winfield Dunn Parkway, Kodak, TN located two miles on the right from exit 407 going toward Sevierville.  Please be cognizant of where you park so as not to block customer traffic.

DEPARTURE: 10 a.m. sharp

DESTINATION:  Roger Brown’s Heirloom Woodworking Shop, 125 Brown Circle, Greeneville, TN. View Roger’s collection of over 8,000 pieces of automotive memorabilia, cars, trucks and vintage Texaco station. You may also visit his woodworking shop. He is a master craftsman and often has high dollar cars where he does reconstruction work on both the interior and exterior; such as, wood panels for a Ford woody wagon and a Rolls Royce dash board.

Weigel’s has 100% gas. Recommend you have at least ¾ tank or better as our travels will take us where there are very few opportunities for gas.  FITBE (Fuel ITank Bladder Empty) as your next opportunity will be 1 ½ to 2 hours for relief.)  Our route will take us by Douglas Lake and the French Broad River.  We then travel scenic roads through Brush Creek Mountain and Houston Valley toward our destination.

A catered lunch has been arranged.  Upon arriving you will be greeted with the wonderful aroma of pork butt from the smoker. The menu includes pulled pork BBQ, baked beans, slaw, buns, chips, drink and cookies.  Cost is $10.00 per person. Make your check payable to East Tennessee Region AACA. Send your check to Len Royston, 1831 Pine Ridge Road, Seymour, TN 37865 to arrive by October 12 so we can provide the caterer with a head count.

With fellowship, a scenic drive and an outstanding destination the only thing missing is YOU. Mark your calendar and mail your check to Len. See you on the 19th.

DON’T FORGET TO SEND YOUR CHECK FOR THE LUNCH TO LEN BY OCTOBER 12.  I’ve attached a picture that Linda sent of Roy Brown’s Garage.

For those who may not be able to do the trip with Len and Blake, the Classic Ford Club is doing a drive on the Foothills Parkway hosted by Tom Christenberry on that day (October 19).  They will meet about mid-morning at the Marathon Station in Greenback at Brickmill Rd. and Hwy. 411 and have lunch afterward.  More details about that drive will be forthcoming.

Don’t forget the Top Wrench Competition on Oct. 31 and the Car Show at Crown College on Nov. 2.

If you know of any other things coming up, send them to me and I will get it out to the club.
